Last weekend was WordCamp San Francisco – The annual WordCamp of WordCamps (Meca for WordPress lovers!). In previous years I’ve always attended, but this year I couldn’t make it, unfortunately. It was the biggest WordCamp ever – a success from what I’ve heard and seen (on the live streaming)!
Matt Mullenweg – co-founder of WordPress and founder of Automattic (the company I work for) – gave his anual State of The Word keynote at WordCamp San Francisco! As usual it was an inspiring keynote, showing the incredible growth the WordPress ecosystem had this year.
We’ve grown to power 14.7% of the top million websites in the world, up from 8.5%, and the latest data show 22 out of every 100 new active domains in the US are running WordPress.

These are exciting times to be a part of the WordPress community!
Now it’s time to get back to work, there’s still 85.3% of the web that needs help.
